Unsavories are people who do activities that border on the fringe of the law. Many enjoy it.

Description[]

Unsavories sometimes actually break the law in minor ways, although most lose interest eventually because they are always caught by the Thunderhead and reprimanded by peace officers. The more troublesome offenders are tweaked with shock nanites in their blood, just powerful enough to deter them from breaking the law again. And if that doesn't work, they are assigned their own personal peace officer 24/7.

There's a Department of Unsavory affairs that deals with unsavories, they have different departments that manage each level of unsavory status.

All unsavories have to meet with an officer every week, like probation, and they are not allowed to talk to the Thunderhead. Most unsavories intentionally break the law, knowing that they cannot be imprisoned, and anything they could do to terrorize the normal human population would be stopped by the Thunderhead long before it could do any harm. They also tend to harm themselves in ways that are similar to piercings, tattoos, prosthetic ears or otherwise, and similar things to distort the human body's interpretation. Overall, they are the downcast people of society. Most people think poorly of them to the point of ignoring their cries of help from an alley, simply because they think they don't deserve help.

Experienced unsavories are called career unsavories. All unsavories have a red U on their Ident and social media pages. This makes it public knowledge that is unsavory. They are not extended credit anywhere and are prohibited from school sports.

Sometimes the Thunderhead removes the memory of an unsavory and replaces it with new ones, giving the person a new identity, this process is called supplanting.

Many unsavories frequently visit AWFul Clubs.

Levels of unsavory status[]

  • Common Unsavory - The baseline.
  • Hellion
  • Pandæmon
  • Apocalyte - The top of the unsavory food chain. Secretly all Apocalytes are actually undercover Nimbus agents.

History[]

Unsavories already existed in the Age of Mortality. At one point in history, the Thunderhead branded everyone in the world except Greyson Tolliver as unsavory, bringing chaos and despair to the population.
