Sister Astrid is a devout Tonist of the non-fanatical variety.

Biography[]

Sister Astrid became part of The Toll's inner circle, because she treats Greyson as a friend. She also served as the Cloisters' chief of staff.

In the Atoll she convinces Cirrus to make an exception for the Tonists on the journey with her. In the end of getting in the ships she discovered she is the only living crew, and has to make the longest journey of them all alone with Cirrus. When arriving she will be known as Mother Astrid.

She is unwavering, because with so many things in flux, there's got to be someone who stands firm.

  • The Toll -  “Greyson's only respite from reverence was Sister Astrid, who, in spite of her fervent belief that he was a prophet, didn't treat him like one. She saw it as her mission, though, to engage him in spiritual conversation and open his heartstrings to the truth of Tonism.” In secret when he was making speeches, she looked at him in admiration.
  • Scythe Morrison - Scythe Morrison was also apart of The Toll’s inner circle, having a tolerant relationship with each other. Sister Astrid thought Morrison hated her, (Morrison was mildly amused when she was beyond crestfallen,) but in the end Morrison was happy for her.
  • Mendoza - Even though they’re a part of the Toll’s inner circle they don’t interact much.
