In the Age of Mortality, the world was divided into many countries, each with their own government. The Thunderhead disbanded all governments but saw fit to divide the continents into regions.
NorthMerica[]
Map of NorthMerica and SouthMerica.
Previously known as North America, NorthMerica has several regions. The Arc of a Scythe books are mainly based in NorthMerica, and more specifically MidMerica.
WestMerica[]
WestMerica forms the western third of NorthMerica. Made up of present-day Western United States and Western Canada.
MidMerica[]
MidMerica forms the middle third of NorthMerica. The MidMerican Scythedom holds a Conclave three times a year in Fulcrum City, formerly known as St. Louis. Made up of present-day Central United States and Central Canada.
EastMerica[]
EastMerica forms the eastern third of NorthMerica. Made up of present-day Eastern United States and Eastern Canada.
Mexiteca[]

Mexiteca makes up most of CentralMerica. Made up of present-day Mexico and Central America.
LoneStar (Texas)[]
Texas is the Charter Region of NorthMerica, where the Thunderhead "dabbles in benevolent anarchy". Texas models itself after the Wild West in the Age of Mortality. There are few laws and few consequences, and the Thunderhead has no cameras within homes. Cars also do not drive themselves unless they absolutely must. The Thunderhead does not govern in Texas so much as it "stays out of peoples' way and watch(es) what happens". Additionally, the Thunderhead has shut down all its cameras in private areas to determine whether doing so hinders its ability to rule. The results have been mixed, with many people coming there and many leaving as well, and the region having the highest rate of accidental shootings and pet-bear maulings in the world. People are free to leave or join a charter region as they please. Made up of present-day Texas.
NorthernReach[]
NorthernReach consists of Northern Canada and the Permafrost which would be present-day Greenland.
Caribbea[]
Consists of the islands of the Caribbean.
Isthmus[]
Consists of the Southern portion of CentralMerica.

Amazonia[]
Amazonia is located in north and central SouthMerica, and is made up of the territories of the present-day Amazon Forest and other regions/former countries bordering it. Scythes have often been known to glean while on vacation in Amazonia which, while perfectly within the rules of Scythedom, has caused a lot of tension with the green-robed native scythes of the region. Because of this Amazonian scythes are often uncooperative, or sometimes even directly obtrusive, when dealing with cross-region scythe matters. Non-native scythes must present themselves openly and register with the region when visiting. Portuzonian is the primary language of Amazonia.
Chilargentine[]
Made up of present-day Chile and Argentina, scythes of the region are in a civil war in all but name. Spanic is the main language of the Chilargentine Region.
Land of Fire[]
Present-day Tierra del Fuego, the scythes there are obstructive and uncooperative to an extreme.
EuroScandia[]
FrancoIberia[]
Made up of present-day France, Andorra, Spain, Portugal, and Monaco.
TransSiberia[]
TransSiberia held one of the last revolts against Thunderhead in Moscow. Made up of present-day Russia.
Britannia[]
Made up of modern-day United Kingdom and Ireland, where Scythe Alighieri lives.

PanAsia[]
Nepal[]
A charter region in Pan-Asia. Like all other charter regions, the Thunderhead conducts social experiments in there; specifically, employment is forbidden in Nepal. All citizens are free to engage in any recreational activity they choose and receive a basic income guarantee much higher than other regions so that they do not feel slighted by an inability to actually earn a living. This has resulted in a substantial rise in altruistic and charitable endeavors, one's social status is not measured in wealth but in one's compassion and selflessness. No one is compelled to participate. People are free to leave or join a charter region as they please. Made up of present-day Nepal and parts of the Himalayan mountains.

Mongolia has its own Scythedom and therefore is also a region.

SubSahara[]
Region south of Sahara Desert, tolerant of Tonists, led by High Blade Tenkamenin. SubSahara is also the region where a large uprising of sibilant Tonists launched an attack against the Scythedom resulting in several scythe deaths as the bodies were burnt.
Madagascar[]
Madagascar is a charter region in Africa. Here the Thunderhead is conducting a social experiment where citizen raise without gender, an example is Jerico Soberanis who is fluid. No one is compelled to participate. People are free to leave or join a charter region as they please. Made up of present-day Madagascar.

Tasmania[]
Tasmania is a charter region in Australia. Here the Thunderhead is conducting a social experiment where each citizen is required to select a biological modification to augment their lifestyle. The most popular being gill-form breathers that allow them to live an amphibious life, and lateral webbing much like that of the flying squirrel which facilitates gliding as a sport and as self-propelled travel. No one is compelled to participate. People are free to leave or join a charter region as they please. Made up of present-day Tasmania.

RossShelf is a charter region in Antarctica. Here the Thunderhead is conducting a social experiment where each citizen is linked to the mind of everyone else. People call this the closest the Thunderhead ever came to a mistake, and now the minds are only linked during REM sleep in The Grand Rêve. No one is compelled to participate. People are free to leave or join a charter region as they please. Made up of present-day Ross Shelf.

- LoneStar (Texas) in NorthMerica- Anarchy/No law enforcement. The Thunderhead is unable to observe private areas.
- Nepal in PanAsia - Forced unemployment.
- Madagascar in Africa - Children are raised genderless and forbidden to choose a gender until reaching adulthood. Some choose a single gender, other choose gender fluidity.
- Tasmania in Australia - Each citizen is required to select a biological modification to augment their lifestyle.
- RossShelf in Antartica - Originally Mind Link, now only in sleep.
